By training, I am a materials chemist, and my research interest focuses on developing functional materials for energy storage and conversion devices. In 2014, I  received my Ph.D. at the CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory in India. In my Ph.D., I have developed and explored various graphene-based electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reactions in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells.  After  Ph.D., I moved to Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, South Korea, in the lab of Prof. Jong Beom Baek for my postdoctoral research. After a spell,  I moved to King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia in the lab of Prof. Peng Wang. In 2017, I received the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellowship, and with that, I moved to Friedrich Schiller University, Germany, in the lab of Prof. Philipp Adelhelm. I have extended my stay in the same lab at Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany, until May 2022.  In the middle of 2022, I joined as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry at IIT Madras.
